Troubleshooting is the key to being the effective LX technician and ultra-hirable.  This skill is invaluable in the field.  Students will learn the steps necessary to quickly troubleshoot your rig.  Troubleshooting methods will include techniques for quickly identifying issues with dimmers, cable, fixtures, networks, consoles, and everything in between.  Don’t know where to start? This class will bolster your skills to be a more efficient troubleshooter, and the person who can solve the problem.

Paul Smith
Paul Smith is a British Lighting Designer working internationally in Theatre, Television, Concert Touring and Theme Parks. His work has been seen on Broadway, at Sydney Opera House, and on London’s West End as well as numerous Theatres and Arenas across the globe. In Theatre, recent projects have included Circus 1903, Illusionists: Turn of the Century, Illusionists: Live from Broadway, and Lord of the Dance, whilst in Concert Touring, his diverse client list has included Sir Tom Jones, Ed Sheeran, Rizzle Kicks, Michael Ball, and Kwabs. In Television, Paul has worked just about everywhere on shows for TV channels in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. In the world of Theme Parks, Paul’s most recent project has been the Ferrari World Theme Park in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Paul is also a Professional Member of the Association of Lighting Designers in the UK.
Michelle Harvey

Michelle Harvey is currently the Lighting & Video Supervisor at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre in Kansas City, MO. Prior to Missouri, Michelle lived in Las Vegas where she taught Intro to Design, Lighting I, and Lighting II at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas after getting her MFA there. She also found herself working in and around Las Vegas. Michelle has lit many shows and enjoyed several tours.
