This course will provide middle school and high school English Teachers with tools to integrate theatre into their curricula.  Teachers will learn detailed exercises and activities to enhance their courses.  Focused for English teachers.

Katie Jones


Katie Jones is a director, performer, puppeteer, and arts educator. She served in the education departments of Asolo Repertory Theatre, Northlight Theatre, Von Orthal Puppets, Steppenwolf, and American Theater Company (ATC), where she was Outreach Director. Through ATC, Katie worked as an artist-in-residence in Chicago Public Schools, and saw how valuable theatre can be in a classroom setting. Katie received her MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University, where she was able to merge her theatrical and contemplative practices, and this study continues to inform her work in theatres and schools. Katie currently resides in Asheville, North Carolina, where she works with Asheville Creative Arts and the Buncombe County Council on Aging, focusing on creativity and self-expression for people of all ages.
